Notes & Key Terms

Translator Notes

  1. Frankincense and myrrh together evoke both the temple incense (Exodus 30:34) and the gifts brought to Jesus (Matthew 2:11). The almond tree (Hebrew: shaqed) is associated with God's watchfulness in Jeremiah 1:11-12.
