Septuagint Job / Chapter 11

Job 11 — Septuagint (LXX)

20 verses • 0 variants

Chapter Overview

Summary

Job 11 begins ZOPHAR THE NAAMATHITE'S first speech — the harshest of the three friends. Zophar accuses Job of hidden-sin and lectures on divine-inscrutability (vv. 7–9: 'higher than heaven … deeper than Sheol'). Romans 11:33's 'how unsearchable his judgments and inscrutable his ways' echoes this verse-family.

Notable Variants

11:7–9 'higher than heaven, deeper than Sheol' divine-inscrutability → Rom 11:33; 11:6 'know that God exacts of you less than your guilt deserves' — sharp accusation; 11:13–20 conditional-restoration promise.
